Looking for a climbing partner for an evening next week

Hi all, I'm attending the Nordic Political Science Association's conference at Tromso University next week, but being a climber I'm far more interested in trying climb something whilst I'm in your lovely part of the world, than I am in hanging out with a bunch of political science geeks! :-) I'm going to be in Tromso from Tuesday (5th) to Sunday (10th), and I think could climb any evening, or from Saturday lunchtime onwards if anyone would be kind enough to take me out. I'm British, but live in Helsinki, and have been climbing rock, ice and mountains for over 15 years. I'm not very good but I am safe and experienced. I'm mainly a trad climber, and onsight up to about UK E1 5b (Nor. 6), but would be very happy to sport climb or just boulder if that was a more practical option. I have climbed on Kvaloya before - I've done Gallionsruta on Baugen and we also climbed at Brensholmen for a day, where I led Stordiedret. I've also visited Lofoten a number of times and I've done lots of routes there including Vestpillaren Direct on Presten. The bouldering get-together in Småbakkan this weekend(8th to 10th) might be of interest to you. Friday afternoon, saturday and sunday. Lots of high quality buldering, lots of coffee, and some beer in the evenings. Sleep in tents or under open skies(weather/mosquitoes permitting). With the exceptions of early mornings and beerdrinking-times, transportation is easily arranged by sending an sms to Trond; phone no 970 81 386. If you need to go back to Tromsø for the evenings that can probably be arranged.

Great! Thanks for the invite. I've arranged to trad climb on saturday afternoon, but the current plan is to come to Småbakkan in the evening to camp and to boulder on sunday. Fingers crossed for good weather!
